Spring is here! Large teams of
consultants together with our local, state and federal partners have
been hard at work at The Railyards to design the funded infrastructure
including the track relocation, roadways and utilities, and to obtain
additional infrastructure funding. This tremendous collective
effort will enable us to break ground at the site this Spring on
roadways and utilities infrastructure and bring much needed jobs to the
region!
Funding Update
We are excited to report that in March The
Railyards project was awarded the following infrastructure funds:
• $950,000 awarded to Sacramento
Intermodal Transit Facility (SITF) track
relocation project as
federal earmark from
Congress
• $5.26 million awarded by
California
Transportation Commission (CTC)
from Prop
1B Trade Corridors Improvement Fund
(TCIF) for the West
tunnel connecting Old
Sacramento to The Railyards
• $20
million awarded by SACOG from
federal stimulus for track
relocation.

We extend our deepest thanks and
appreciation to our region’s elected and business leaders, City and
SACOG staff, and project partners who work tirelessly to support the
project and bring infrastructure funding to The Railyards. Your
help has ensured that a new generation of Sacramentans will work at The
Railyards!
Proposition 1C Round 2 and Federal
Stimulus Efforts
We are busy preparing
our applications for Round 2 of the State of California Department of
Housing and Community Development (HCD) Infill Infrastructure Grant and
TOD Housing Programs. We were fortunate to secure HCD
infrastructure funding in Round 1 in 2008 and hope that we’ll be
successful this year as well. In addition, we are working closely
with the City of Sacramento and our regional elected leaders to pursue
additional federal stimulus dollars.
